RCENO Neighborhood Meeting
The well attended Board meeting was held at the recently re-designed (inside) home of RCENO’s Vice Chair, Kathy Longo. Susan B., RCENO communications coordinator, gave a recap of the planning efforts for Modernism Week’s RCE Home Tour. Six beautiful Mid-Mod homes are on the tour and tickets are sold out, over 600! We will have an on-line flipbook this year, with printed maps to the homes. Registration is at Victoria Park where guests will receive the maps with QR code to the on-line flipbook, as well as a Valentine treat, shoe covers, wrist band and bottled water. Each house will have a vintage car in the driveway, courtesy of Bill & Mac RCENO members. New this year are two sponsors who have helped with the costs of holding this event, M. Joan Martin & The Sandwich Spot. After party is a catered event at the home of Ron & Eric to celebrate the homeowners and volunteers who are making this successful event happen.
We had the honor of having Jeffrey Bernstein, District #2 Councilman and former mayor, attend the meeting. Jeffrey answered some questions from the audience regarding The Racquet Club Road diet, affordable housing units under consideration for San Rafael Road, Historic Racquet Club site update, Victoria Park future plans, ICE sitings, and Lt. Wm. Hutchinson is the new officer assigned to the N. Palm Springs area. RCENO will invite Lt. Hutchinson to a future RCENO meeting.
Exciting news; Emil Triege volunteered to be our newest Board Member. Emil and husband, Erik, have lived in RCE for about 5 years and have volunteered for Modernism Home Tour Event Day! Welcome Emil!!! We now have three new board members but have plenty of room for more neighbors who’d like to be involved in our RCE neighborhood.
